When the top hatch is opened, the refueling receptacle access wells are also
opened up which also feature power charging couplers, computer access
connection terminals, etc.
Note the top hatch opens straight up slightly then slides back like a sunroof. In
slow flight such as approaches, this hatch can be opened without disrupting the
vehicles dynamic lift qualities drastically, especially if the slow flight wings are
deployed.
Note the red lines on the front nose of the F-136. This is the refueling jets
alignment lines for the nozzle to be navigated towards. In flight refueling would
be necessary in certain long range multi 'sorti' missions. A fuel door would
open revealing the socket for the refueling nozzle.
